Problem This Solves

Understand the permission matrix between Board Owners, Facilitators, standard Participants, and read-only Guests.

When to Use This

Sign in to LetRetro and review your assigned role on active team boards.

Prerequisites

  • Sign in to LetRetro and review your assigned role on active team boards.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Board Owner: The user who created the board. Has full administrative authority, including renaming the board, toggling Private board mode, configuring feature toggles, adjusting capacity, archiving, and permanent deletion in the Danger Zone.
  2. Facilitator: Co-facilitators designated under Settings > Members. Can start, pause, and adjust stage timers, toggle Facilitation Mode, trigger voting rounds, reveal hidden cards, create polls, and conclude sessions using Finish Board.
  3. Participant / Member: Regular sprint attendees. Can submit text feedback cards, record AI voice cards, attach Tenor GIFs, vote on cards during voting phases, participate in live polls, and collaborate on shared board documents.
  4. Viewer / Guest: Read-only access for cross-functional observers or external stakeholders when permitted. Can observe live cards and discussions without submitting or modifying content.
  5. Unverified Enterprise Granularity: While board-level Facilitator vs Member roles are verified in the UI, fine-grained custom role builders across entire workspaces are reserved for Enterprise agreements.

Expected Outcome

You have a clear understanding of board-level permission boundaries and can appropriately assign facilitator rights.

Troubleshooting & Realistic Tips

  • Need restricted voting or blinded feedback? Use the Facilitator controls and blind mode eye icon during live sessions.
